Hey y’all!
My name is Allison (I go by Allie now, but will respond to Al, Allycat, sometimes Ow… you get it.). I’m an Army spouse, a dog mom to our wild GSP, Hudson, and a new blogger. I was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia where I met my husband, Casey, when I was just a little 16 year old high schooler. Casey taught me all about the Army and his plans to serve his country. It wasn’t even on my radar that this would one day become my life, but flash forward 8 years later and we were walking down the aisle!
I had never lived anywhere other than Georgia, so the thought of Army life and moving every couple of years scared me at first. But the unknown also intrigued me and I was ready to start this journey with my other half. I jumped in head first into Army life and have loved it (most days anyway)! Our first duty station was Fort Riley, KS, then Fort Hamilton, NY, on to Fort Leonard Wood, MO and now Grafenwoehr, Germany. Each duty station has truly been an adventure and we enjoy making each place our home!
I started this blog as an outlet for my writing and to share my stories with family, friends and the world. It is my hope to inspire you and others to find adventure wherever life takes you, even if it’s not your dream location. Since moving to Europe, Casey and I have taken full advantage and travel every chance we get. I have always loved to travel, but I have truly developed a passion for it since living here and I can’t wait to share our stories with you! - My favorite sport is soccer.
- I’m a total foodie and love to try new/local dishes wherever we travel.
- I had never been to Europe before moving here.
- My guilty pleasure is watching reality TV (my husband calls it trash TV).
- I just started practicing calligraphy as a hobby (more on that later).
- I’m almost always smiling, but also suffer from the dreaded RBF (Resting B*tch Face).
- My happy place is being by the water whether it be the ocean, a lake, or a river.
- I really enjoy home decorating and am obsessed with HGTV, Home Goods & Target (Wah! I miss these stores!)
- I’m <3 beer (especially German beer!) and enjoy finding local breweries and trying new beers around the world.
