Rafting The River Noce in Northern Italy

I consider myself a pretty active person. I grew up playing multiple different sports and I am never shy to try new things, especially when in Europe! So we did just that last month by going white water rafting in Northern Italy. And let me tell you, it was such a rush and SO much fun! I may have been terribly sore the next day, but the views and adrenaline rush made it completely worth it!

Where We Went

Rafting Center Val di Sole

Some good friends of mine did all of the planning for this trip so all of the props should go to them! This rafting center was excellent! Not only do they provide the raft and some good gear, but they also have super experienced guides that take you down the river. They were very knowledgeable and make you feel totally comfortable and safe. That was a huge plus for me!

You can read more on their website here.

Where We Stayed

Molveno, Italy

Molveno is an adorable little lakeside town just an hour from the rafting center. The town is perfect for those that are just looking to relax and get some sunshine or even for those that want to hike and be active. There are many hiking trails, mountain bike runs and even nearby ski slopes if you choose to go in the winter months.

Our apartment was perfect as well! The owners were so nice and friendly and truly went above and beyond for us! The apartments had everything we needed and was dog friendly. (Hudson approved!) I would definitely recommend staying here.

Tips/What to Bring

You by no means need to be an expert rafter in order to do this trip. I have never been rafting and I survived! Here are some things I would bring though:

  • Swimsuit – you’ll wear this under your wetsuit they provide.
  • Water shoes or old shoes you don’t mind getting wet. If you have ones that keep your feet warm in freezing water, BRING THEM! I wore my old tennis shoes and I couldn’t feel my feet at the end.
  • A towel – The rafting center does have showers and lockers on site for you to freshen up after your 2.5 – 3 hour trip. The warm showers were very much welcomed by our group!
  • A change of clothes – You’ll want to be dry after being drenched all morning/afternoon.

This trip was so much fun and one that I’ll never forget! I’m also very proud to say that I didn’t fall out of the raft once the whole way down the river, YAY!
