Our French Riviera vacay was roughly two weeks long and we were able to do and see a lot! I want to share it ALL with you, so I broke up my blog into three parts. If you’d like to see what we did on the first part of our trip, read it here.
Next up on our trip was Monaco! Monaco is super simple to get to and is only about a 45 min drive or 35 min train ride from Nice, France. We decided to take the train to keep it easy. It’s a small country and can easily be seen in just a day. Check out what we did below.
What We Did
Explored the marina and yacht shopped (I wish!)
Whenever you think about Monaco, you picture the rich and famous with their fancy outfits, cars, and yachts. So one of the first things we wanted to do was see the marina! And let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. The yachts were so beautiful and massive! Each one had their own staff just working on the decks, cleaning or prepping for the day. It was pretty amazing to see! One can dream right!?
Goggle-Eyed the fancy cars
I have to admit, I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to cars. I can’t name many. However, even I was oohing and ahhing over the cars around Monaco. They were all so shiny and pristine!
Won big at the Casino de Monte-Carlo
Once again, this was one of our musts when visiting this small country. I am not fond of gambling, but I was willing to be Casey’s emotional support. HA! Plus, the inside of the casino is beautiful! To gather up some courage we stopped in the bar to grab a cocktail. The entrance fee into the actual casino part is a bit expensive. (The bar and outside part of the casino is free though.) We still wanted to go inside. Casey played a quick couple of games of Black Jack and as soon as he was up some money, we left! We won roughly 100 euro and we were happy with that.
Explored the shops
To keep up with our “feelin’ fancy” theme, we window shopped. I love to see the fashion in each country we visit. It was fun to look around each store!
Where we ate
- My Sushi – I know it sounds a little weird to eat at a sushi restaurant while in France/Monaco, but it’s something we don’t really eat in our small town in Germany. We were craving it and it was delicious!
Monaco is just as beautiful as you picture it! Although there aren’t a lot of activities to do around the country, you can easily just spend the day walking around and taking in the scenery! If you have the time to visit here you definitely should. Stay tuned for Part 3 of our French Riviera Road Trip!
